Dad & Lad Campout
March 5-6, or March 12-13, 2005

Choose from two weekends to spend camping in the beautiful mountains of Southeast Oklahoma with your dad at Camp Dierks near Wright, Oklahoma. After setting up camp with other Pack mates, dive into the activies: BBs, archery, crafts, challenging obstacles and games. Don't forget makings for s'mores and be ready to have a really great time!

The fun begins at 9 am on Saturday (rain or shine) and will last until noon Sunday. Special activities for Cubs and their Moms include tent camping, games, crafts, archery, hiking, BBs, campfire, chapel, star gazing and enjoying the scenic setting.

The coucil recommends you bring comfortable clothes (Please pay attention to the weather and prepare appropriately. Camp Dierks is just outside Wright, Okla., if you want to reseach weather forcasts before your trip.), sturdy shoes, tent and sleeping equipment, towels, basic toiletries, jacket, hat, insect repellant, flashlight, rain gear, and, of course ... your Cub Scout Spirit!

Suggested items include glow sticks, fire starters, snacks, drinks, fixin's for s'mores, cameras, cots or air mattresses, and fishing gear. Ask others who have gone before for their suggestions as well.

A map of Camp Dierks is here. But we suggest you caravan with others from our pack who are going on the same weekend. Pack 12 campers will all be stationed in the same area within the camp. A map of the layout of the camping and activity areas is here.

You should also take spending cash, as the Camp runs a scout store with "must have" items, such as slush puppies, walking sticks, etc.
