Leaders News and EventsSchool Night for ScoutingWell the "NEW and IMPROVED" version of this recruitment works pretty well. Thus far we have added 30 new scouts and 2 new leaders and I promise the whole thing was a whole lot less stressful than usual. Hats off to the sports signup idea.Leaders just wanna have FUN ! ! !If you're not having fun being a leader, then you're doing it wrong. Go back and review why you're doing this and start eliminating things that aren't fun. Talk it over with your Cubmaster and other Scouters, re-take training, check out Cub Scout Leader resources. Start changing things, because if you're not having fun then no one else is either.Did you know ...Enthusiasm is contagious? If you aren't excited about Cub Scout adventures then you can't expect your Tiger or Cub to be. Planning and preparation for each activity should be filled with excitement and great expectations. Don't cheat your boys – or yourself – out of a GREAT TIME ! ! !Online Training from BSABoy Scouts of America is now offering online courses in leader training: Youth Protection Online Training, Cub Leader Fast Start Online Training, and Scout Leader Fast Start Online Training. Follow this link to complete the training at the NeTSeO Trails Council website. You will need multimedia sound on your computer to take these courses.Den or Pack Day Trip IdeaIf your unit is looking for a fun day trip, NETSEO Trails Council recommends the Museum of the Red River @ Idabel, Okla. Established in 1974 to contribute to the knowledge and appreciation of the cultural heritage of the Americas. Its collections are particularly strong in regional archeological materials, southwestern pueblo ceramics, and historic and modern Plains Indians garments. It is open year-round, except for major holidays, and admission is free.
